The book was fair. To me it lacks scholarly backed evidence leaving me to think is the book backed by facts or someone's personal opinion. If the author is trying to enhance people of color knowledge (to me) scholarly/peer reviewed evidence is the way to go. I believe people of color have been indoctrinated to too many fairytales/blatant lies about their culture and heritage.
My granddaughter and I both loved the story and the illustrations.
