Sierra Leone got its name from
Portuguese explorer, Pedro de Sintra, who named the nation “Serra Leoa”. Serra Leoa means lion Mountains. Sintra was impressed by the mountains in the country.
Located in West Africa, Sierra Leone has the two neighboring countries. They are Guinea and Liberia.
