Malawi is a small landlocked country in Southeastern Africa. It was formerly known as Nyasaland. In 1964, it changed its name to Malawi. Malawi means flaming waters.
The following countries border Malawi: Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia. It is estimated that about a third of Malawi is covered by Lake Malawi.
